There’s a moment that happens to almost every golfer who plays Sagebrush for the first time. Somewhere around the back nine, looking out over Nicola Lake with the Nicola Valley spread wide behind them, they think: I should have booked more nights.
A stay and play trip to Sagebrush Golf Club is the recommended way to experience it. Two or three rounds, lodging just steps from the first tee, evenings at the Hideout. This is a course that rewards time spent on property, learning the contours, finding the angles, and playing each round a little sharper than the last.
This guide covers everything from lodging options, what’s included, to dining options, and how to plan the trip properly.
Why Staying on Property Changes the Experience
Sagebrush is the kind of course that reveals itself over time. The wide fairways feel generous on your first round. By the second, you start to understand that position matters more than power — the correct side of the fairway opens the whole green, and the wrong angle turns a straightforward approach into a scramble. Firm conditions can work for you or against you depending on whether you’ve learned to trust them.
That’s why the on-site suites exist. Staying on property isn’t just about convinience convenience, it changes the shape of your trip. You walk to the first tee. You play a round, spend an afternoon at the Hideout, collect your thoughts to play a second round, and wake up with another day of golf ahead of you. The course doesn’t just become another golf destination. It becomes something you learn the more you play it.
As we say, the best way to experience Sagebrush is by staying on property.
Lodging Options at Sagebrush
There are two ways to stay when you come to Sagebrush.
On-Course Suites
The on-course suites are the full Sagebrush experience. They sit steps from the first tee box, the Badlands putting green, and the Double 8 Ranch short-game area — which means your mornings are spent getting dialed in.
Onsite Accommodations: Suite details:
– 4 singles / 2 Kings across 2 bedrooms
– 2 bathrooms and a living space
– Bar fridge and Nespresso machine
– Accommodates up to 4 guests per suite
– No kitchen or in-suite cooking facilities (guests dine at the Ranch House Restaurant and the Hideout)
Suites are limited and fill up quickly, especially during peak windows. Staying on-site also comes with real advantages: guests receive preferred booking windows, earlier tee time access, and preferred pricing.
In-Town Accommodations: Best Western Plus Merritt:
For guests who prefer standard hotel amenities, Sagebrush has partnered with the Best Western Plus in Merritt — a short drive from the course.
In-town accommodation details:
– 2 Queens or 1 King
– Accommodates up to 4 guests
– WiFi, free breakfast, refrigerator, microwave
Where to Eat During Your Stay
Ranch House Restaurant serves breakfast daily and dinner on select evenings. It’s the social centre of the property for meals and the natural gathering place between rounds. Evenings can be spend hanging around one of our fire tables and debriefing your rounds.
The Hideout sits behind the 13th green and offers casual lunch during the day and evening service on select nights. It’s the post-round spot — order something, watch the late groups come in, talk about what happened on 14.
On the course: A refreshment cart and the Golf Lounge keep you covered throughout the round.
The suites don’t have kitchens, and personal cooking appliances aren’t permitted on property. Everything you need is already onsite.
How to Book
The best approach: fill out our form online to reach out to the Sagebrush team directly. They will check availability for your preferred dates and group size. They’ll help you structure the trip — rounds, lodging option, replay rounds, any add-ons — so you’re not building the itinerary from scratch.
For groups of 12 or more, or anyone planning a multi-night stay during a popular window, early contact is the move.

The Bottom Line
A stay and play trip is how you get the most out of your Sagebrush experience. On-course suites steps from the first tee, two or three rounds to actually learn the course, evenings at the Hideout fishing, playing darts, and settling bets.
Plan it properly and it will easily become your annual tradition.
